HIDDEN ISLAND IN MALAYSIA – AUR ISLAND PULAU AUR

 


Instead of city hopping, why not aim for island hopping? With the pandemic situation right now, we would try to avoid crowds.

Aur Island, JOHOR

It is located on the east side of Mersing, Johor Bahru. Aur Island is part of the group island . They are Pulau Dayang, Pulau Pinang, Pulau Lang and finally Pulau Pemanggil. Also, they are all part of the Johor Marine Park.

 If you are snorkel or diver, Aur Island is not a bad choice for 3 days 2 nights trip. You can dive at Aur Island and Dayang Island. And the best one is unlimited shores diving in Aur Island. For snorkelling, there are packages that is suitable for all ages.

Transportation
You can drive to Mersing jetty situated in Johor Bahru. Then take a boat ride to the island (which included if you purchase travel package). Normally it takes around 4-5 hours to arrive (speedboat - around 2 hours), subject to sea tide schedule and conditions. 


Best time to go: 

Low Season: March, October & November.

High Season: April to September

Closed: December to February.

Frustrated because you cannot travel for more than 12 months?  Why not drop Aur Island? Enjoy kampung style resort nearby the beach, take a look in the underwater world is definitely good choice.

Photo by  Artem Beliaikin  from  Pexels Tenggol Island, TERENGGANU Pulau Tenggol is another beautiful diving getaway island lies offshore of Kuala Dungun in the southern of Terengganu. Tenggol island is a tiny island where that is paradise for divers and snorkel. There are 20 sites around the island. However, Tenggol Island is more suitable for advance and experienced divers. But the strong currents might be tough challenger for a beginner.
